Just Stuff, New Pine Creek, Oregon

Got to take a quick trip yesterday to Lakeview Oregon. It's a special place for me since it was the place I was born. It did seem a bit smaller now. I did get to go down to New Pine Creek, which borders between California, and Oregon. This shop sits on the Oregon side. It was closed at the time so we did not get to go inside. I do remember going there as a kid with my grandma. Thought I might get a quick "HiDef HDR" of the building.
Very interesting building. Warning: Photo is full size

What's Happening in my Life
Well what has been happening to me, that is a real good question. I took some time off through the FMLA, for a foot surgery I had to get done. I doc told me I had to stay none weight bearing for 6-8 weeks. During that time my employer (Les Schwab Construction Co.) of 9 years laid me off,and eliminated my postion. This all happened after the surgery, 3 weeks later. This also made them not have to provide insurance, the day I got the call. I found out that the FMLA leave does not protect you from getting laid off and your job being eliminated. Subsection: 825.216 Limitations on a employee's right to reinstatement. Which I think is total BS. Why is the federal leave documents have all the crap for reinstatement, and then put that in there. Lawyers I'm sure.
So I spent the time till now trying to find a new job, but we all know economy is the way it is. It has been tough, but all will be better someday. The construction field has took a dive everywhere, but I will bounce back. I just hope it is sooner than later. I would like to not have to uproot and move away. So to fill in the days, I am going to start taking more photo's and expanding my photography skills.
The flowers will be out soon. I just love spring, best time of the year. So in the upcoming months I am going to devote some time to this blog, it will be a record of what is going on in my life. I hope you enjoy the days to come.
